An extremely rare 1919 Ford Pickup Truck, Model T, finished in Tuxedo Black with nicely appointed red spoke wheels.
It features a well-maintained and well-presented wooden bed with wood side rails. It has slanted buckboard sides that wouldn’t look out of place on a farmer’s wagon a half-century before.
Contains a four-cylinder engine mated to a Jumbo manual transmission (7 Speed Forward and 5 Speed Reverse) and operating at 20 HP.
Purchased new from Fox Motors in Middletown (Ohio) at $465 and restored by Douglas Diltz of Covington (Ohio).
This example of freshness of automotive thinking is practically synonymous with warm apple pie and a wood-core baseball in a well-worn baseball glove.
This utilitarian version showed an evolution in the original design. It was more rustic and functional for the American worker than a mere people mover.
This particular 1919 Ford Pickup Truck was originally used for hauling ice.
